Dojo QuickStart Guide

At SitePen, we've just added a new Dojo QuickStart Guide. This guide was developed by the SitePen support team.

Dojo 1.1 Released

The moment has arrived. I've been anticipating this since the first new fixes to trunk were made, shortly after the 1.0 release. I am proud -- no, elated -- to announce what marks another solid run of around-the-clock development: The Dojo Toolkit version 1.1

Server Migration News - SVN / TRAC changes and notices of downtime.

The SVN repository is in progress of migration to a new host.

Summer of Code is here!

Google is again running the Summer of Code programme in 2008, and Dojo is gearing up to participate. Over the past three years, Google has spent millions of dollars to pay over 1500 talented individuals to work on open source software projects. At Dojo we have some big goals for this year, and right now we're starting to look for students, mentors, and project ideas.

New dojox.widget.Rating widget and even more innovation with gfx!

Just after Wolfram landed his new Rating widget in DojoX, I read about Tobi's extension to this widget that uses dojo.gfx! It's a testimony not just to Wolfram's clean implementation, but also to the reusability of the Dojo architecture and the widget system in particular. Nice work, guys!

Dojo and Grails

Work is being done by Pratik Patel to integrate Dojo with Grails:
"I've been working on integrating Grails and the recently released Dojo 1.0.2. I'm particularly interested in the Dijit components that are now part of Dojo. It seems like a clean, easy way to get some AJAX widgetry into a web application. Grails comes with plugins for common AJAX frameworks - YUI, Dojo 0.4.2(?), and Prototype. Someone's even released a nifty AJAX "dummies" plugin called richUI."

DDD:IV Day 1 Wrapup

DDD was a huge success, thanks in no small part to Google who is generously hosted the event.

Day 1 started with folks trickling in early, and for a bit we thought the turnout would be light, but by 9:30, the large room which we're in was totally full, and the buzz of old friends catching up and new acquaintances being made could be heard down the hall. Dylan and I actually thought twice about getting things under way, but the agenda was full and time at these things is always too short.

DDD Day 1 Slides

In the Contributor Day of DDD 4, we covered a number of topics. Here are some select slides from the event:

DDD 4 Slides

Tonight, festivities continue at Tied House in Mountain View at 7pm. See you there.

Dojo Community Resources

We're working on assembling a great collection of Dojo demos and tutorials. While we get that work completed, I've added an initial collection of current and useful Dojo demos and tutorials to help you get started with Dojo.

A new look is here.

As you're probably noticing, today we launched the new look and feel for Dojo--and it's been a long and hard process.
