The statistics SOC project has been updated. This week's update is written inside dojo and does not define any global variables as suggested my mentor Tom Trenka. The functions still have not been camelcased and some simple calculations are still defined recursively. Both linear and exponential regression functions have been completed and sample size has been removed since it is functionally identical to arr.length. Reasonable documentation has also been provided for basic usage. The js file is available here.
Statistics SoC Project
Summer of Code Project First Entry
This is my first entry for the Summer of Code project for the Dojo Foundation. The essentials of my project are to analyze and visualize numerical data in browser stored in JavaScript arrays using the Dojo Toolkit. In addition to basic statistics, containers will be provided to handle regression equations, pdf functions, numerical derivation, numerical integration, data plots and time series.
Student Bio: Sameul Haque
Sameul Haque discovered the Dojo Toolkit while looking for a way to do charting in JavaScript. It's fitting that Tom Trenka, the main programmer of dojo.charting, will be his mentor this summer.
Sameul is attending the University of Alabama, majoring in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science. His studies in Mathematics will be a great help as he builds a codebase that should end up in dojox.math at the end of the summer.
He grew up in Auburn, Alabama and will be living in Northport, Alabama this summer.
