If anyone is interested in adding animated labels to charting (I think I found a pretty generic method), I'd like to contribute it :)
See http://genericwitticism.com/ld/dojo-1.1b1/widespace/test_chart.html for details.

Sign a CLA and submit it as a patch through trac.
This is the way we try to take submissions; we first need a CLA on file (http://dojotoolkit.org/cla IIRC); once we have that, we can look at your patch.
Submit the patch through http://trac.dojotoolkit.org (guest/guest) by creating a ticket and assigning it either to me (ttrenka) or Eugene (elazutkin, IIRC). Make sure that you specify on the ticket that you submitted a CLA (and under what name); otherwise we can't even look at your code (long story).
Patch submitted
I'm already accepted as a contributor, so I hope that's sorted. I tried to assign the ticket, but could find no such action anywhere. When I checked it out it was already assigned to Eugene, though, so I hope that's OK.

Sounds good.
...nuff said :) Did you mean an actual contributor, or you've already submitted a CLA?
Sure. I faxed in a signed CLA a couple of months ago

Heh.
Didn't need the contents of the response, just that you're talking about the CLA :) There's a difference between submitting patches and gaining committer status:

I'm not always privy to details, so I usually make it a personal policy to ask before assuming.

Of course you should ask, I just grabbed the first thing that could corroborate my story :)
I don't need to be a commiter. I'm just happy to be part of the project at all (potentially), really.
I'd probably just bork something by mistake anyway :)

Thank you, Peter, for the contribution. The ticket was assigned to me automatically, and I was immediately notified by the system. I plan to start active work on everything graphical in full force next week.
Great!
I'll browse through some of the related tickets and see if I can contribute some more in the same are, since I've already read a lot of the code involved. I'll try to set up a simple charting gradient test case as well, so we can see what works and what doesn't in different browsers.
