Summer of Code 2008

Yes, Dojo is participating in the Google Summer of Code in 2008! This will be our third year involved, and we're keen to get even more done than ever before. We're looking for students, mentors, and project ideas right now.
I'm interested in being a student!
- have a look at the project ideas page. This isn't the final list, so keep checking back. And your own ideas are more than welcome.
- download Dojo and have a play!
- jump onto IRC (#dojo on freenode), the Dojo SoC forum, or the dojo-interest list and introduce yourself, discuss your idea, and start refining a proposal.
- read our student FAQs page to learn about what we expect from you, and what you should expect from us.
- get in touch with Rob if you have any questions.
I'm interested in mentoring!
- each Dojo SoC student will have 2 mentors, with at least one being a Dojo committer. But we'd like the other one to be a community member. So if you develop with Dojo for work or fun, and know some aspect of the code pretty well, then get involved!
- fame and glory will ensue, it's almost guaranteed. It's a great way to get started in contributing to Dojo too.
- have a look on the ideas page, and see what interests you. And feel free to come up with your own.
- get in touch with Rob and tell him you're interested, and which parts of Dojo you're happy to mentor for.
I just have an idea for a SoC project!
- head to the ideas page and write it down.
- jump onto IRC (#dojo on freenode), the Dojo SoC forum, or the dojo-interest list and discuss your idea if you think it needs some refinement.
- get in touch with Rob if you have other questions.
