Dojo: A Grade, Because We Care

The Dojo team burns a lot of midnight oil fighting browser quirks and "special features". We could make things a lot easier on ourselves by just committing to supporting fewer browsers, but we feel very strongly that it's better for the health of the web that all modern browsers get a shot at displaying responsive, degradable-by-default UIs.
Leland Scott has done an exhaustive review of the various DHTML libraries and their browser support, and unsurprisingly, Dojo fares quite well, as does the Dojo-based TurboWidgets. While we're glad to be recognized for the hard work we put into compatibility, we'd like to encourage you to go with any of the A-grade toolkits on the list. Even if you don't pick Dojo, it's important that you pick a toolkit that makes portability and compatibility a high priority. You'll be doing your users, and the web at large, a favor.
