The second milestone release for Dojo 0.9 is available, and it now includes the widget system! I've posted a slightly longer summary of what's new and awesome over on the SitePen blog, but just to recap:
  • The new widget system is part of the distribution and runs on top of Core. It's fast. Really fast.
  • Most of the layout widgets are now available in some form and many of the form widgets are taking shape.
  • Layered builds are now available. You can provide "roll up" files for your application that build on top of each other so that your builds can only update what has really changed.
  • Modules have started to land in dojox.
  • Style and event utilities are now even faster.

compress CSS?

Will the CSS be compressed in the final deal?

Hey em_te: no plans to compress the CSS as of right now, but we can certainly add it to the list of things to do for 1.0.
